The Foreign Languages Centre is an inter-faculty unit at the Pedagogical University of Kraków. It conducts English, German, Russian, French, Spanish and Italian language courses for all fields of study, as well as Latin language courses at the Polish Philology department and also in selected fields of study at the Institute of Modern Languages. For detailed information – see: Information for Candidates.

Attending language courses at the FLC enables students to attain a B2 or C1 level in accordance with the National Qualifications Frameworks and in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

In undergraduate studies, language courses start in the second semester of the first year of study and finish with an exam after the fourth semester. They are comprised of 110 hours divided into three semesters (40+40+30 hrs) for full-time study, and into four semesters (30+25+25+30 hrs) for part-time study. At the postgraduate level of studies (full and part-time), the Centre provides a 15-hour course in language for specific purposes.

The Centre also offers courses as part of inter-faculty lectures, such as Business English or English at Work.

We are currently running an EU project (UP to the Top) which offers Business English workshops to students who are in the final year of their  Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
